Philosophy

Although technological skills are essential for this field, I believe that standards and accessibility are essential tenants of solid web site development. To me, access to information is the paramount function of the Web, and it is incumbent upon me to make certain that my work is first accessible and then enhanced for the user.

I am proficient in writing original xHTML and CSS; I consider this my strongest skill set. I have also learned to write some Action Script, Javascript, Ajax and PHP and can manipulate code to work within a specific task. I, do however, still consider myself a student of these languages and the field of web design and development. While graphic design is not my strongest skill set, I can create, composite, and optimize graphics for web use using Photoshop, Fireworks, and Illustrator.

Though I am relatively new to my field, I chose this career path because I have always found learning new technologies somewhat of a hobby. Therefore, I am committed to building new skills while refining those I already possess.
